Currently, I am teaching various courses at the undergraduate, post graduate and PG Diploma level. Specifically, I am teaching Geography of India, Fundamentals of Remote Sensing & GPS, Thematic Applications in Geoscience and IRC. These courses have allowed me to delve into different aspects of the discipline, equipping students with a well-rounded understanding of the discipline. I encouraged students to critically analyze and reflect upon the societal and environmental challenges we face in a rapidly changing world.
In the course on Thematic Application in Geoscience, I have introduced students to the power of remote sensing techniques and their applications in environmental monitoring and resource management. Through hands-on exercises and project-based learning, students gained practical skills in image interpretation, data analysis, and the use of geospatial tools. This practical knowledge enabled them to apply remote sensing techniques to real-world scenarios and develop solutions for sustainable soil, water, and forest management. I have had the opportunity to supervise three final year dissertation projects. Through these projects, I mentored students in defining research questions, designing methodologies, and conducting independent research. I provided guidance throughout the research process, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation. All the three students successfully, defended their dissertation during the practical examination.
Through my teaching and mentorship, I aim to inspire students to pursue further studies and careers in Geography, fostering the next generation of geographers and researchers.
